LeBron James is Barbie’s 1st “Kenbassador”

LeBron is the FIRST EVER male athlete to receive a Barbie “KENBASSADOR” doll.

The LeBron James doll is meticulously crafted to reflect his distinctive style and personal journey. Standing an inch taller than standard Ken dolls, it features a blue and white letterman jacket adorned with meaningful patches, including his jersey number “23,” an Ohio emblem representing his roots, and the phrase “Just A Kid from Akron.” The ensemble is completed with a “We Are Family” t-shirt, Nike sneakers, Beats headphones, sunglasses, a fanny pack, a gold watch, and his signature “I Promise” wristband.   

LeBron expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of positive role models: 

“As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication. Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James Kenbassadors doll is such an honor.”  

LeBron emerged from humble inner-city beginnings to become a basketball legend and activist, vowing to give back to the community that raised him. He fulfilled his promise in 2004 by founding the LeBron James Family Foundation, empowering the kids of Akron, Ohio with the resources to succeed in the game of life. This initiative also supports the LeBron James Family Foundation, which focuses on education, housing, healthcare, and job training for families in need. Mattel will make a donation to the foundation and, for every doll sold at Target between April 14 and 19, will donate a copy of James’ children’s book “I Am More Than” to Save the Children, up to 5,000 copies.  

The LeBron James Kenbassador doll will be available for purchase starting April 14 at select Target stores, Amazon, Walmart, and Mattel Creations, priced at $75.
